List of Eligible Institutions and Organizations for Internship Placement
The institutions and organizations listed below have been determined as suitable internship placements where students of the Food Quality Control and Analysis Program may complete their summer internships.
A. General Internship Eligibility Requirements
A1. The institution or organization where the internship will be carried out must operate within the food industry.
A2. There must be an authorized and qualified professional staff member within the institution/organization who will be responsible for supervising the student’s internship activities throughout the internship period.
A3. The internship supervisor must belong to one of the following professional groups:
- Food Engineer
- Dietitian
- Veterinarian
- Chemical Engineer
- Fisheries Engineer
► Internships carried out in institutions or organizations that do not meet these requirements shall be deemed invalid, and internship applications to such places shall not be approved.
B. Types of Eligible Institutions and Organizations
B1. Food Production and Processing Facilities
- Milk and dairy products production facilities
- Meat and meat products processing facilities
- Flour, semolina, and cereal product factories
- Fruit and vegetable processing and packaging facilities
- Canned and frozen food production facilities
- Vegetable oil, margarine, and oilseed processing facilities
- Confectionery, chocolate, and biscuit production facilities
- Beverage production facilities (fruit juice, carbonated/non-carbonated beverages, fermented beverages, etc.)
B2. Food Quality Control and Analysis Laboratories
- Private food analysis laboratories
- Accredited food control laboratories
- Food analysis and research laboratories of universities
- Food control laboratories affiliated with municipalities or public institutions
B3. Public Institutions and Official Bodies
- Provincial Directorates affiliated with the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry
- Food control, inspection, and licensing units
- Publicly owned food production or analysis facilities
B4. Food Storage, Distribution, and Logistics Organizations
- Cold storage facilities (for food purposes)
- Food storage and logistics companies
- Large-scale food wholesalers (provided that a quality control unit is available)
B5. Mass Catering and Food Service Organizations
- Industrial catering companies
- Catering service providers
- Hotels
C. Ineligible Internship Placements
Internships are not considered appropriate in institutions or organizations with the following characteristics:
- Businesses that are not directly related to food production or food analysis
- Companies that do not employ a responsible qualified professional staff member
- Businesses engaged solely in retail sales (e.g., markets, kiosks, etc.)
- Organizations whose fields of activity do not align with the learning outcomes of the program
► Note: This list has been prepared as a basis for the evaluation of students’ internship applications. The final decision regarding the suitability of an internship placement shall be made by the Internship Commission.
