Food safety and quality control are among the most strategically important areas for protecting public health and ensuring sustainable food production. Increasing quality expectations in the food industry, advances in analytical technologies, and evolving national and international regulatory requirements have created a growing demand for qualified technical personnel who can contribute effectively to food production, laboratory analysis, quality control, and food safety processes.
The Food Quality Control and Analysis Program at Alanya University is designed to provide students not only with a strong theoretical foundation but also with extensive practical and laboratory-based experience. Our academic staff, who possess expertise in their respective fields, support students in developing professional knowledge and technical skills while also guiding them in defining their career goals and strengthening their individual competencies.
Within the scope of the program, students receive education in areas such as food chemistry, food microbiology, fundamental and advanced analytical techniques, quality control, hygiene and sanitation, food safety, food legislation, and food additives. By integrating theoretical courses with laboratory applications, students gain practical experience in various stages of food control processes, from sampling and sample preparation to analytical testing and the evaluation of results.
Alanya’s strong tourism, hospitality, and food service sectors provide students with valuable opportunities to observe food production, hygiene, and quality practices in hotels, restaurants, institutional catering facilities, and other food-related enterprises. In addition, internship opportunities enable students to experience professional working environments directly, develop sector-specific competencies, and make more informed decisions regarding their future careers.
Students are also encouraged to participate in seminars, technical visits, panels, and professional events involving industry representatives, specialists, and guest speakers from different fields. These activities help students remain informed about current developments in the sector, become familiar with a wide range of career opportunities, and broaden their professional perspectives.
